Central Road Hawk Travel Teams
The Travel Team level is not for everyone. This level is for the lacrosse student athlete who has demonstrated that they are on track to be considered a college lacrosse recruit. This level is for the lacrosse player who loves the game, can’t get enough, and has the goal to play at the collegiate level. This level is very much associated with the skill set, knowledge, and athleticism as well as all other considerations described above. The Road Hawks offer other general training thru their camps, clinics, and leagues for athletes who enjoy learning and playing the game and are not sure yet of their desire to play at the top collegiate level.
High School grades freshman thru senior is the highest level of the Road Hawks organization’s lacrosse development and training program. At this level we strongly encourage a high school student athlete to serious look at the commitment necessary to be able to have opportunities at the next level. Players who make one of the Central Road Hawk Travel Teams are placed into a year round lacrosse Academy Training program. This year long program begins every fall. The Academy Training Program provides for flexibility for all our Travel Team participants. This flexibility encourages playing other team sports and participating in all activities associated at these grades. Our Training Academy is 98% of the time takes place on Sunday mornings, afternoon, or evenings. This has worked extremely well for our athletes with little conflict with other team sports and activities over the years. The year round training schedules per grade level can be viewed on the team pages.
1. Freshman:
This team level provides year round training with very limited travel in the fall and summer following their freshman year. This level does travel to the top freshman tournament and compete against a variety or talented teams as well as participate in some local and regional tournaments.
2. Sophomore:
This team level provides year round training progressing in the Academy with an increase in travel during their sophomore summer. This level begins a more serious athletic training level preparing for the beginning of their recruiting process at the collegiate level.
3. Juniors:
This level is the most intense level of the year round Academy Training and tournament travel in the fall and summer and historically the height of the collegiate recruiting time table. At this level our lacrosse student athlete’s know that his goal is to obtain the opportunity to play the sport of lacrosse at the collegiate level, and are fully committed to that goal.
4. Senior:
This level is for our Road Hawk alumni who are finishing up the recruiting process in the fall of their senior year and entering into our preparatory college Academy designed to prepare our recruited players to succeed at the next level.
All Travel Team levels are progressive in travel, competition, and Academy Training. At the travel team the Academy Training also provides for parent and player education on the recruiting process, finances or college, and preparatory guidance for our players on tract to be considered collegiate recruits.
